Earlier this month we announced that Stealth Bastard would be making the journey to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita (albeit under the less lawyer-frightening name of Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark).

But the slow invasion of the world’s electronic devices by our sneaky little clones doesn’t stop there – from today, Stealth Bastard Deluxe will be available to Mac and Linux users on Steam!

As the list of ways to play Stealth Bastard grows, so your list of excuses for not owning a copy dwindles further into nothingness. If a lack of Mac and Linux support has been holding you back, now’s the perfect time to treat yourself – Stealth Bastard Deluxe will be 50% off in the Steam store for a whole week.

That goes for the PC version too, so if for some reason your PC game collection is missing this vital title, do yourself a favour and grab a bargain. The DLC level pack The Teleporter Chambers and the soundtrack are 50% off too!

Hello! It brings me great pleasure to announce that the renaming competition for Stealth B**stard, our wonderfully nefarious stealth-puzzle-platformer, was a complete success! The competition is now closed! Rather than picking just one of our favourite entries, we’ve chosen two and fused them together to create one ultimate, unified gaming title:

Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark. They were all worthy titles, but there could be only one… well, two!

I hope you are all as excited as we are for our new name and that you enjoy the new screenshots accompanying this blog post! Be sure to stay tuned for more updates as we head towards our Summer release!

It’s finally here! Thomas Was Alone is making its debut on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita today in the US. And don’t worry, fellow Europeans – just a few short hours after that, Thomas will be available to you as well. Thomas Was Alone tells the story of the world’s first self-aware artificial intelligence programs and their attempts to traverse their artificial environment in search of a way out. Thomas and his friends must cooperate by combining their unique abilities and strengths to overcome the obstacles in their path. Danny Wallace provides amusing narration of the AIs’ innermost thoughts, accompanied by a soothing, bleepy score by David Housden.

You can also discover a new story in the Benjamin’s Flight level pack, which will be debuting exclusively on PS3 and PS Vita. Join the impetuous Benjamin in his quest to unearth a great secret during the events leading up to Thomas’s emergence, and take control of TWA’s most exciting ability yet.

And that’s not all – if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, we’ve got more good news! Thomas Was Alone is a completely free with PS+ for European subscribers, and is 20% off for American subscribers as part of PlayStation’s Spring Fever deals. Pick it up quickly before it goes back up to full price! We hope you enjoy Thomas’s PlayStation outing and the new levels. Keep an eye on Curve for news of more great indie releases on PS3 and Vita in the very near future!

Stealth Bastard Deluxe is tough as nails, but some levels are tougher than others. A while back, we asked you to tell us your bête noire – the level that resulted in your pixelly guts being flung across the room more times than any other. A few names stood out, but in the end the most votes went to level 7-6, Ahead of the Game.

Ahead of the Game’s surprise containment fields are designed to keep your blood pressure up. As if having an army of ruthless robots stalking you wasn’t enough, now you’re being chased by a chain of energy fields which, if you’re standing in the wrong place at the wrong time, will make your body be everywhere and nowhere all at once in zero seconds flat. It hardly seems fair.

If this level’s still giving you grief, prepare to have that grief rubbed in your face. Hamish Lockwood, one of Stealth Bastard Deluxe’s level designers, is here to show everyone how it’s done in this this terrifying speed run. While he admits that he can complete the level faster than this, Hamish reminds us that doing so will likely get our little clone seen by a turret, causing him to miss out on that all-important S-Rank.

We love a good speed-run – if you’re one of the elite few who can do better than this, let us see you in action by linking to a video in the comments. And if you’re convinced that 7-6’s difficulty level pales in comparison to another level, let us know! We’re thinking about recording more dev speed-runs in the near future, and we’d like to feature the levels you want to see.

Hello! I am utterly overjoyed to bring you news that Stealth Bastard, our outrageously devious stealth-puzzle-platformer, will be sneaking its way on to PS3 and PS Vita this Summer!

If you’ve not yet heard of Stealth Bastard, it’s our deadly stealth platform game with a fast paced twist! Following your birth in a cloning lab, you find yourself trapped in a vast and overwhelming network of dastardly chambers, replete with vicious, yet hilarious, booby traps and deranged robots! Your task is simple; stay out of sight and get to the exit. Persevere to the bitter end and you might just discover the secrets of this vicious world!

We like to look at Stealth Bastard as stealth gaming without the waiting. Gone are the days of hanging around in a locker or a conveniently placed, human sized crate! The mechanical foes of our stealth world are much less forgiving, instantly eviscerating you or your fellow captives on sight!

The game boasts brilliantly crisp visuals, an abundance of character, tight controls and a steady difficulty curve that gradually ramps up across 80 levels, spread over 8 unique worlds. Additional features such as un-lockable gadgets, speedrun leaderboards and a level editor gives the game unlimited replay value!

With stages taking anywhere between 30 seconds and 10 minutes to complete, plus tons of secrets to discover, we think our game will really be coming home for PS3 and PS Vita!

This is all very exciting! But there’s more… we’d like to present our fans with an opportunity to be a part of Stealth Bastard’s journey to PlayStation. We want to rename Stealth Bastard to something less profane… it’s just too rude!

We therefore want you to have a go at naming the PlayStation versions – if you think you’ve got the perfect profanity-free solution to our naughty title, we want to hear from you!

If you’ve got a great idea for a new title, head on over to our site and submit it to us! If you suggest the winning name, we’ll give you a spot in the credits, a copy of the game when it’s finished, plus we’ll throw in a PS Vita as well! Not bad, eh?!

The closing date is 14th April 2013, so drop on by to http://www.curve-studios.com/win-a-ps-vita without delay to submit your ideas!

With the release of Thomas Was Alone on PS3 and Vita getting close, it’s time to look back at the journey that led us to where we are today, and the work that went into creating a masterpiece. On the surface, Thomas looks like a relatively simple piece of software. What could be so complicated about designing a game about jumping blocks? Well, as any game developer will tell you, there’s usually more going on under a game’s surface than meets the eye. This short documentary, filmed last year during Thomas’s development, sheds some light on Mike Bithell’s creative process and reveals a small part of the hard work that went into the game.

One of the things that made Stealth Bastard amazing was its soundtrack. From the original freeware game to the bigger, shinier Stealth Bastard Deluxe, those bass-heavy beats have always been part of what makes SB’s particular brand of break-neck sneaking so atmospheric and tense. Some of the tracks from the original game made it into Stealth Bastard Deluxe, but in the end we couldn’t fit in all our favourites. This meant that we missed out on putting some great tracks into both the game and the Stealth Bastard Deluxe OST.

We decided that the solution to this problem was to release Stealth Bastard EP – a collection of tracks from the original game that we felt were too good not to get their own release. These tracks have been remastered by our very own music man Ricky Honmong and are now available on Bandcamp for a very reasonable 99p. If you felt as though your Stealth Bastard music collection was incomplete, this is the answer to your problem!

As an added bonus, we’ve decided to give a free copy of the EP to anyone who was nice enough to make a donation to us for Stealth Bastard back in the days when the free version reigned. If you were one of those people, you should have received an email from us containing a download code – contact us on admin@curve-studios.com if you haven’t and we’ll sort you out.

If you’re not one of those people, you can still buy the EP on Bandcamp now, or revisit this interview from last year in which Ricky talks about the creative process behind Stealth Bastard’s tunes.

Just a quick heads up, chaps – Stealth Bastard Deluxe will be a part of the Steam Indie Sale this week, coming in at a very reasonable 50% off. If you’ve haven’t picked it up yet, there’s never been a better time. New DLC pack The Teleporter Chambers is only £1.99, or a similarly negligible amount in whatever your local currency happens to be, so if you fancy picking up 100 levels designed by the games industry’s most brilliant and sadistic minds for under £6, it’s your lucky day.

Oh, and the soundtrack is half price all week too!

We might be giving away the odd DLC code over on the Stealth Bastard Twitter account during the sale, so do pop in if you’d like to get your hands on some teleporty goodness.
